San Fiorenzo Bolgheri is a ‘Super Tuscan’ Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon blend from a six hectare vineyard in the Bolgheri region close to the Tuscan coast. Aromas of black fruits with a rich full palate of bramble and black cherry fruit balanced by a fresh finish
This is a new 6 hectare estate, owned by San Felice, and situated near Le Sondraie - just a couple of kilometres from the coast and due west of Siena. International varieties dominate the region and San Fiorenzo is no exception, with 4 hectares of Merlot and 2ha of Cabernet Sauvignon. Vines are just several years old, and planted in the sand-silt soils typical of the region.The Bolgheri DOC (established in 1994) runs parallel to the Tuscan coast, bordering on the Ligurian Sea. The proximity to the coast brings much light into the vineyards - and the moderate temperatures, with cool winds from the sea, ensure a slow and regular ripening period for the grapes - maintaining fresh acidity and aromas.
